Going Green!

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Women for Hope wanted to offer some products to help our customers with “Going Green.”    We are happy to announce our first product line with a Green focus - Skeeda reusable grocery bags.    Now we have all seen the bags at many of the stores, but they are usually made from nylon or some other form of plastic, which in some ways defeats the purpose, as the whole point is to reduce the amount of plastics in landfills.  These type of bags take even longer to decompose than the basic plastic shopping bags.   Also, most of these bags are made in China or in other overseas factories, which increase the use of petroleum to bring them to the US.

Now, Skeeda bags are a whole different story!   They are made from 100% cotton heavyweight material and they are made in the USA, by a women-owned company (as with all products offered by Women for Hope :) Not only that, but they are stylish!   They come in lots of fun fabrics, and have long handles so you can carry them over your shoulder.   They are nice and roomy - hold at least three times as much as a plastic bag does.   They are also machine washable - they do advise to line dry though.    And…best part - they are only $15.00 each!

They are so cute and roomy, I have been using them for other things, like a run to the library, throwing in a change of clothes to take w/ me to work, and they are fabulous at the Farmer’s market!   So, check them out and buy a few.  What a great gift they will make for the holidays!

Women for Hope’s New Bath and Body Products!

Friday, October 24th, 2008

We are sooo excited to announce the introduction of our new bath and body line.    This line is made from such wonderful ingrediants such as shea butter, soy oil, & aloe vera.   It makes your skin so soft and smell delicious!   We had lots of fun testing the products out and we can’t believe how nice they are.    They are made for us by a family run business out of Tennessee which gives their creator, Cassandra, the ability to work from home and work with her children.

We currently have the following items available for order - Handcrafted Body Bars (which are made of natural ingredients which do not irritate your skin) Cleansing Gel - this is some nice stuff…a little goes a long way and can be used as liquid hand soap or in the shower or bath!   (Try the Herbal Sage Leaf in the kitchen..yum!)  Hand and Body Lotion - a light lotion that makes your skin super soft…I love it!   Body butter…this is the nicest body butter I have ever tried.   The Perfectly Peppermint is great to pamper those tired tooties!   Sugar Scrub.  Finally a sugar scrub that isn’t all oil and sugar.  They add goat’s milk to give a nice creamy texture.   And it leaves your skin so super soft!

We have a nice assortment of scents too including Black Raspberry and Vanilla, Oatmeal Milk and Honey, Green Tea and more.

Check out our new line at http://www.womenforhope.com/bathandbody.html

Stay tuned for more product updates!
